Born in Glendale, California, Debra Jo Rupp has the blonde hair and sunny smile of a California native. Those looks are ideal for film, but Debra almost didn't make it to the small screen. Her parents didn't want her to start acting -- they even sent her to the University of Rochester because the school had no acting classes. Lucky for Debra and for the rest of us, the school added a theater department during Debra's freshman year. The school fostered Debra's talent, and after graduation, she headed to New York City to pursue her dreams. Like most aspiring actors in New York, Debra started out in theater, but eventually, she made her way to film. Her first TV role was that of a topless dancer (with her top on) on the ABC soap All My Children in 1980. In the late ’80s, she moved to Los Angeles and began appearing as a guest star on shows like Blossom (1992), L.A. Law (1993), and Family Matters (1993). A recurring role on the NBC hit Friends in 1997 and 1998 led to her being cast in FOX’s That ’70s Show (1998) and her biggest success. After the sitcom wrapped in 2006, Debra appeared in the big-screen comedy Kickin’ It Old School (2007) with Jamie Kennedy. Debra Jo has kept her pups under wraps -- the most we've seen is her naked back -- but with her continuing roles in off-Broadway productions, she may turn up nude in the cast of Hair.
