In 1969, Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice was a movie involving couples taking part in wife-swapping. In 1973, it was a TV sitcom that wouldn’t mention the word wife-swapping if it was threatened with castration. The series covered the domestic problems of two couples – couple 1: Robert Urich and Anne Archer, couple 2: David Spielberg and Anita Gilette. Spielberg and Gilette’s characters also had a daughter, played by one Jodie Foster, which gives the series passing interest to movie fans but not a whole lot. ABC rightly ditched the show after twelve episodes.
