Sit Ubu, sit. Good Dog. Woof. These words may sound familiar, especially if you watched Spin City, Family Ties, or The Bronx Zoo. All these and more were stable-mates to Ubu Productions’ Brooklyn Bridge, a show that somehow stretched two seasons out over nearly three years. Breaking with tradition, the show harked back to the 50’s for its inspiration, but perhaps the most notable aspect of this series is that it brought Marion Ross, who we all grew up knowing as Mrs. Cunningham, back out of mothballs to star in a primetime series again after a decade or two in the wilderness. Sometime skinnite Carol Kane played Aunt Sylvia, fulfilling the legal requirement that she appear in every single TV series of the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s.
