Short-lived (for a daytime soap, anyway) series about two warring political families, various romantic entanglements and all sorts of behind-closed-doors double-dealing. Perhaps soap fans were unsmitten by the endless political machinations, as the series hit a wall after only five seasons. Regardless, it’s no more overwrought than any of its daytime serial brethren.
