Expensive and highly touted UK version of Melrose Place that ended up a disaster and ran only 26 episodes, City Life is a perfect example of ‘blueprint programming’. In other words: ‘Hey this worked once! Let’s try it again!’ Expect a collection of well-scrubbed and photogenic youths hopping in and out of bed with each other as they ignore everything resembling ‘real-life’. Top Twenty Pop Tunes populate the scene segues, horrible dialogue proliferated every exchange and the patient TV viewers of New Zealand promptly turned their noses up.
