Highly-hyped and ill-fated remake/continuation of the classic original series, this incarnation of Dark Shadows suffered from simple familiarity. Chalk it up to the modern horror fans impatience with the same old schtick, but perhaps TV is too ‘safe’ to present horror the way it should be. Regardless, the remake wasn’t half bad (anything with Lysette Anthony is worth watching) yet it died a quick and quiet death.
