Bing Tongco’s hardscrabble romantic opus relates the story of the aptly named Lolita (Maye Tongco), a Filipino courtesan who works in the back room of a popular restaurant and nightspot. Lolita dreams of leaving the flesh-for-hire business behind to start a new life with her jeep-driving boyfriend (Ryan Munoz). Because she’s destitute, however, the sex goddess spends her evenings with a rotating cast of desperate men.
