Best described as The X-Files meets Lou Grant, only not nearly as successful as either, The Chronicle offered one warped little concept: when a new reporter comes to work for the seedy tabloid, he’s stunned to discover that all those ridiculous urban legends (Bigfoot, Loch Ness, etc.) actually exist! Hey neat! Apparently viewers did not agree. Jon Polito and Curtis Armstrong offered a little color and Rena Sofer proved an attractive gal but the show was doomed after only 20-some episodes.
