The former wife of expired folkie John Denver might be mostly remembered for her short-lived marriage to the famed singer, but she certainly had a wild ride in the world of music and movies on her own as well! What many don’t realize is that Aussie-born Cassandra Delaney was in a mother/daughter music group called "The 50s", who were nominated for a Mo Award (Australia Music/Entertainment award) in 1983. On top of that, this down under stunner had a short-but-sweet film career in her mother country, which kicked off with the film One Night Stand (1984). She had a small role in Rebel (1985) and finally freed her Rocky Mountain Hi-Theres in Fair Game (1985). A later role in Hurricane Smith (1990) opposite Rocky star Carl Weathers had her stripping off her shirt yet again, which means that despite her short lived acting career, she put up an impressive string of nude scenes in these four flicks and though she’s since slid into obscurity, the sight of Cassie’s bountiful boomerangs will be etched in our minds forever. Talk about some sunshine of HER shoulders, especially in the now cult classic flick Fair Game (1985), which follows her taking on the evil kangaroo poachers who previously terrorized her. If there ever was a more Australian movie scene in the history of the great nation, it has to be the stunning Cassandra Delaney showing off all 3 B's while tied to the front grill of a pickup truck, shirt ripped open, racing through the outback while three kangaroo poachers laugh through gross teeth, driving her around. Luckily for Cassie though, she gets her revenge on those scumbags!
