British beauty Hazel Court was one of the pioneering scream queens, appearing in multiple Hammer horror films directed by Terence Fisher, as well as the Roger Corman-produced adaptations of the works of Edgar Allan Poe: The Premature Burial (1962), The Raven (1963) and The Masque of the Red Death (1964). An award-winning leading lady of the 1940s and 50s, Hazel made a name for herself as one of the screen's great beauties before segueing into the horror scene. Among her most notable credits during this time is a brief topless scene in the Terence Fisher-directed flick The Man Who Could Cheat Death (1959)! Sadly, Hazel left us in 2008, just a week before the release of her memoir Horror Queen. Tells you everything you need to know right there!
