Ilean Almaguer is one busy Mexican mamacita! She’s been appearing onscreen since 1994, when her family moved from Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas to Mexico City. It was there that she was able to train at the TV network Televisa’s acting school, get an agent, and start getting commercial work. Ilean went on to have roles in a number of telenovelas, including Si Dios me quite la vida (1995), Mujer, casos de la vida real (2003-2004), Atrévete a soñar (2009), Rafaela (2011), and A Shelter for Love (2012). After making her feature film debut in 1997’s Madame le consul she landed her first international film, the 2001 television movie In the Time of the Butterflies and eventually moved to Los Angeles. In 2023, the same year she was seen in an episode of the Netflix series The Lincoln Lawyer, Ilean starred in the Tubi original movie The Housekeeper. She plays the titular character, who works for a rich couple who seem to be covering up a deadly secret involving their last housekeeper.
