You’ve heard it ain’t over until the fat lady sings? Well, in The Phantom of the Opera (1989), which happens to be Jaclyn Mendoza acting debut, it’s starts when she takes off her top. This dark version of the classic Gaston Leroux novel stars the nightmare himself, Robert Englund, but it’s Jaclyn’s eng-lungs that will have you singing a happy tune. A couple of appearances on the boob tube later and she was cast in another feature film, which would prove to be her last, Bring Me the Head of Mavis Davis (1997), a funny movie, but with a bit of a bitter aftertaste since we’ll not see her type again.
