Born along the River Tyne in the English town of South Shields, Jade Amelia Thirlwall is of Egyptian and Yemeni descent on her mother’s side and attended a Muslim school where she learned how to read and write in Arabic. She became interested in pop music and makeup as a teenager and by age eighteen had auditioned as a singer for The X Factor UK three separate times. The third time in 2011, she made it through to the live performances after joining up with fellow contestants Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards, and Jesy Nelson to form the girl group Little Mix and they eventually won the season. They would go on to release six studio albums together and become the first female band to win the BPI’s Brit Award for British Group. Jade started to pursue a solo career when Little Mix went on hiatus in 2022, and in 2024 she released her first promotional single “Midnight Cowboy.” The video for the song shows the Brit beauty dancing in a fountain with her breasts almost completely visible under a soaking-wet tank top.
