The daughter of Dominican parents, this Bronx-born bilingual babe was raised in South Florida and started recording Christian music in middle school. After hitting the Latin charts with a cover of the Shirelles song “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” in 2012 she released a self-titled album that earned her a number Latin Grammy and Latin Billboard nominations. Leslie has made several music videos but her first on-screen acting role came in 2021 when she appeared in the movie musical In the Heights. That same year, Leslie seemed destined to hit it big when she was cast as the titular BatGirl in an upcoming HBO Max film, but then Warner Brothers unceremoniously scrapped the film even though it was near completion. Luckily, her career kept going, and in 2024 she popped up in both In the Summers and The Thicket.
