Controversial vocalist Marian Anderson and her powerful punk rock presence graced this world all too briefly. As a teenager, Marian ran away to live as a squatter in San Francisco; as an adult, she poured her angst and soul into her band, The Insaints, which became famous for it’s raunchy stage shows featuring graphically sapphic displays of female empowerment. Marian also worked part-time as a fetish model and dominatrix and would bring members of the S&M community on stage during her shows. Her pierced punk-goddess glands were immortalized in the documentary Last Fast Ride: The Life, Love and Death of a Punk Goddess (2011), which features plenty of her skinfamous full frontal performances. Tragically, Ms. Anderson died of a heroin overdose in 2001, but we'll always have the mammaries!
