This German-Turkish treat honors both sides of her ancestry by dividing her time between Berlin and Istanbul. She spent most of her time growing up in Germany, attending the Acting Studio Frese and Hamburg's Schauspiel Studio Frese to study theatre. Meryem started racking up minor roles in television and short films in 2008, and then landed her big breakthrough in 2011 when she was cast as Hürrem Sultan in the series The Magnificent Century. But it was her role in the 2024 drama series RU that had Meryem putting the boob in boob tube! As a middle-aged woman having a passionate romance with an 18-year-old, Meryem’s mams made many cameos.
