This Tooting, London-born-babe may not be one for tooting her own horn but that’s okay, we’ll do it for her, because she’s a sexy singer-songwriter with a metric ton of talent! Her father was a choir director and her mother was one of its members, so it’s no surprise that Raye (full name Rachel Agatha Keen) was drawn to music. Dad taught her to play the piano and she started writing her own songs until she had enough material for her first EP Welcome to Winter in 2014. Raye signed a recording contract soon after but ended up becoming an independent artist when the label wouldn’t release her debut album, My 21st Century Blues. She gained popularity via social media and ended up cowriting a lot of music for famous colleagues like Beyoncé, Charli XCX, and John Legend while appearing on tour with big names like Rita Ora, Halsey, SZA, and even joinde Taylor Swift during the Eras Tour in 2024. By 2025, Raye was front and center during two big award shows, performing “Oscar Winning Tears” at the Grammys and “Skyfall” during a James Bond tribute at the Academy Awards ceremony.
