Rebel Wilson’s Early Life

Born in Sydney, Rebel Wilson grew up in the suburbs, where as a high school student, she studied to become a mathematician while earning money working at the local movie theatre. She ended up switching gears after her stint with the Australian Theatre for Young People and winning an international scholarship that took her to NYC to study improv. After getting a taste of the spotlight, Rebel enrolled in the University of New South Wales and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Performance Studies and a Bachelor of Law, and somehow during all this she also managed to make it to the boob tube in Australia with roles on the sketch show The Wedge and the sitcom Pizza. Once she started getting recognized for those roles, Rebel decided to quit her day job and any dreams of being a lawyer and pursue a screen career full time! 

How Rebel Wilson Got Her Start

Most people first recall seeing Rebel on screen as the gothy chick being interviewed on the local news in the comic book adaptation Ghost Rider starring Nicolas Cage, a scene that ended up being featured in the trailer. Since then, she’s appeared in many movies and TV shows, such as her hilarious crack-flashing turn in the Oscar-nominated comedy Bridesmaids (2011), the sideboobsplitting flick What to Expect When You're Expecting (2012), wherein she bares substantial cleave in a pink bra; the self-created ABC sitcom Super Fun Night, in which Rebel shows her super funbags in heart-patterned undies; and the Michael Bay-directed action-comedy Pain & Gain (2013), which has Rebel riding a guy in a leopard-print nightie while playing with nunchuks. That's no euphemism; we mean actual nunchuks. With all these strip down scenes, surely seeing Rebel Wilson’s boobs must be somewhere in our future, right? 

Rebel Wilson Hits Hollywood

But wait, back to 2012, which is when Rebel appeared in the college singing-group comedy Pitch Perfect, which would become an unexpected hit and spawn a couple of sequels (more on that later). It would also gain Rebel even more notoriety, leading to a supporting role in the star-studded sequel Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb (2014) and films that would earn her leading lady status like Isn’t it Romantic? (2019) 2019 was also the year she and Skin fave Anne Hathaway played a pair of con artists in The Hustle and Rebel flashed us a bit of chastity belt. Then in 2022, Rebel showed audiences her dramatic side in The Almond and the Seahorse, where she swapped spit with the sexy Charlotte Gainsbourg. Giddyup!

Have We Seen Rebel Wilson Naked? 

After tons of teases, we finally got a better view of Rebel’s rump in Pitch Perfect 2 (2015). Rebel does an aerial dance routine and splits her leotard right along her crack. Unfortunately, we suspect that Ms. Wilson used a body double for this scene. There's precedent for that accusation, as it's been confirmed that she used a double for the streaking scene in Sacha Baron Cohen's The Brothers Grimsby (2016), apparently after some alleged discomfort at Cohen’s request for her to go nude herself. We’re hoping it was that particular situation and not the idea of undressing on camera that put Rebel off being in the raw, because we would love to see it!

It seems Rebel’s been just as busy off-camera as she is on. In addition to dealing with a few defamation lawsuits against magazines, Rebel decided to get ahead of another magazine outing her when she publicly came out in 2022. She announced she was in a relationship with Ramona Agruma, and the couple got married in 2024, the year she published her memoir, Rebel Rising, which seemed to spark even more controversy about factual inaccuracy and ended up having portions redacted in the UK. That was also the year she co-wrote, directed, and starred in the musical comedy The Deb, which went back to her hometown of Sydney to film.

What’s Next for Rebel Wilson?

It appears that Rebel has a lot in store for fans of comedy and drama alike. She’s set to star in the music movie K-Pop: Lost in America, about a group of young South Korean singers who get stranded in Waco, Texas, and have to band together to make their way to New York City for their US debut at Madison Square Garden. She’s also reteaming with Pitch Perfect’s Anna Camp for Bride Hard, an action comedy where a wedding gets taken hostage by mercenaries because the maid of honor is a spy! Perhaps Rebel will have mercy on audiences and let us spy more skin? If not, there’s still Rocking the Boat, where she and Leslie Mann go on one of those 90s boy band cruises. If there was ever going to be a chance to see Rebel Wilson in a bikini - or out of one - that’s gotta be it! In a surprise move, Rebel is also slated to play Lady Capulet in the musical Shakespeare movie Verona’s Romeo and Juliet, with Ruper Everett of all people playing her husband. What are the odds this version has the Capulets having some steamy same-sex trysts on the side? If so, maybe that’s when Rebel will let loose and deign to doff her duds for real. We hope that deep down, she's a Rebel with a cause: to get completely naked on screen at some point during her career.
