Tantalizing trailblazer Samantha Neyland Trumbo has the distinction of being the first African American to win both Miss Hawaiian Teen USA (2013) and Miss Hawaii (2020), so it’s no surprise she went on to be a successful model and actress. But what may be surprising is that she used her pageant status to help pass the legislation that made Juneteenth a recognized holiday. After kicking off her modeling career in Aloha state at sixteen, Samantha eventually moved to California and worked with brands like Skechers and Mindbody, appearing on billboards across Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Times Square. She started acting in 2015, while also writing and producing her own short films, and since then she’s been seen on popular series like Ballers (2017), Magnum P.I. (2019), and Mixed-ish (2020). Samantha’s first big film role came in 2023 when she starred in the BET+ holiday film Christmas Rescue and that paved the way for her lead role in the Tubi original thriller Sinister Surgeon. She dials up the sexy with two spicy scenes, but doesn’t go all-the-way nude - yet. With more new projects on the way including another thriller called Tempted, we’re hoping one of them tempts Samantha into taking it all off!
