Taking his cues (and penchant for cute, curvy girls) from famous uncle Francis, Christopher Coppola makes his own family-themed, wise-guy drama debut with Deadfall (1993). Hard-as-nails New Yorker Joe (Michael Biehn) accidentally pops a cap in his own pop (James Coburn) during a sting gone sour. Vowing to fulfill his dad’s dying wish to recover priceless stolen objects from his tyrannical twin brother Lou (also James Coburn), Joe gets unwittingly drawn into his sleazy uncle’s scams connecting him with a psychotic mobster and his sexy mamalicious main squeeze. While doing his double dealings for daddy, will the son go the way of the father, or will the revenge-bent rogue take it farther and topple the treacherous troops to redeem his family name? Hint: Jolting Joe makes the offending kin an offer they won’t be able to refuse.
