Written by novelist Douglas Coupland, Everything's Gone Green (2006) is the story of an artsy twenty-nine-year-old Vancouverite who loses his job and his girlfriend on the same day. Then poor Paolo Costanzo thinks things are finally looking up when he lands a job at the lottery board snapping photos of winners and penning profiles of people with all the luck. When he meets a pretty young thing named Ming (Steph Song), life looks even better, even though she happens to be seeing a Yakuza money launderer. But Paolo goes and gets himself mixed up in dirty dealings and crooked schemes, and he comes to realize just how innocent he was before. It's a tale of angst and disillusionment from the man who introduced the phrase "Generation X" to the world. And to prove to you just how disappointing real life can be, it features no naked girls.
