Based on a novel by Drew Fine, the title character (played by Dichen Lachman) makes her living as a money collector for a private investigator, a sometimes violent and dangerous profession that she’s looking to leave. Then one day, Heather Stanton (Willa Fitzgerald), the daughter of a successful real estate mogul, hires Joe to help recover ten million dollars that was stolen from her. At the same time, an FBI agent reveals to Joe that they are looking into a cold case - the mysterious murder of Joe’s father, Walter Baby (Corin Nemec), who was a hit man. It seems like a coincidence at first, but then it slowly becomes clear that the two cases are actually related. At one point there’s a shadowy shower scene where you can briefly catch a glimpse of Dichen’s right breast as she reaches for a towel.
