Musician SZA makes her big screen debut opposite Keke Palmer as Alyssa and Dreux, two Los Angeles roommates who are about to be evicted from their apartment, thanks to Alyssa’s situationship Keshawn (Joshua David Neal) who was entrusted with their rent money and promptly blew it on his T-shirt business. With only hours to find a way to raise the money and then get to her big job interview and gain that promotion, Dreux enlists carefree artist Alyssa to try hit up a payday loan place, a bloodbank, even selling a dusty old pair of Air Jordans to appease their angry landlord Uche (Rizi Timane), encountering one mishap after another while traipsing across the city meeting oddballs and ne’er-do-wells of all kinds. At one point, the ladies get in a brawl with the bootylicious Berniece (Aziza Scott) who is also seeing KeShawn.
