Queen Christina (1933) was a very controversial pre-code film starring the skintillating Greta Garbo as the infamous Swedish Queen who was openly bisexual and loved dressing in gender-bending clothes. She loves her kingdom, but she falls in love with a Spanish man and has to choose whether to stay loyal to her country or her man. She isn't totally loyal to her man, however. She has her female lover played by Elizabeth Young. The two share a sensual lesbian kiss that allegedly sparked drama in Hollywood at the time for being "too long". We don't think it's long enough!
