A magical realist tale from the director of 2003’s House of Sand and Fog, The Life Before Her Eyes (2008) stars Evan Rachel Wood and Uma Thurman as Diana McFee before and after a tragic school shooting in which teenage rebel Diana and her churchgoing friend are made to choose, at gunpoint, which one should live. The rest of the story involves slow-motion shots, insects, portentous weather, and an abortion. There’s no skin here, but North Carolina native Evan Rachel Wood looks hot as always.
