A pretty young bride meets her match in her husband-to-be’s domineering mother in the romantic German comedy Vorsicht Schwiegermutter! (2005). With her sharp features and overbearing manner, Gerlinde (Adele Neuhauser) gives new meaning to the term “monster-in-law”. The gruff mom’s sure that her darling son Lutz (Arne Lenk) is too good for Rebecca (Katharina Schüttler), the well-meaning young girl he’s chosen to marry.
