Inspired by the current success of Emerald Fennell's hotly discussed new film, Wuthering Heights, I wanted to talk about other films that were based on books. In Fennell's loose adaptation of the classic novel, her stars are outrageously horny for each other. Margot Robbie drips with sexual tension, and her bosom looks amazing in her tight little corsets.

The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981)
The Postman Always Rings Twice was a sexy crime novel published in 1934 by James M. Cain. This book has been adapted a couple of times, but we aren't here to talk about the infamous Sweater Girl Lana Turner in the 1940s version.
We are talking about the much spicier 80s version, which starred Jessica Lange in the lead role. She flashes her fun bags at one point and has a steamy sex scene with Jack Nicholson. We even watch her tough her downstairs! I wonder: does that Postman ever ring down there?
Female Perversions
Now this is a spicy one! The book by Louise J. Kaplan wasn't quite adapted. Rather, its ideas directly influenced the fictional story in the movie. It became a psychosexual film in 1997, and it stars nudity queen Amy Madigan and Tilda Swinton.
The plot follows two sisters who are a little too close as they discover their own sexual desires. Kaplan theorized that women's sexual deviances and kinks derived from twisting societal expectations of women. Well, that's what these two babes do!
Not only do Tilda and Amy go nude, but other actresses join them along the way. Marcia Cross sits on a man's lap with her tits out. Karen Sillas shares sapphic scenes with other women. And the leads? They show us everything! Thank goodness for these females and their perversions.
Lady Chatterley's Lover (2022)
One of the most notoriously sexy novels ever written, the film adaptation does not disappoint. Emma Corrin plays a British woman who marries an upper-class man who goes off to fight in World War I. He comes back injured, with no movement below the waist. He understands that his wife has needs, so he encourages her to get some action outside of their marriage. No need to tell her twice!
She has a passionate affair with a lower-class man. She explores her body in a famous scene where she runs naked in the rain.

Lady Chatterley's Lover (1981)
Finally, I wanted to end on an earlier adaptation of Lady Chatterley's Lover as the sexiness feels slightly steamier. This highly sensual book has a variety of adaptations, but the 1981 version with Sylvia Kristel is my favorite. The running-in-the-rain scene is in this film, too.
Sexy Sylvia shows everything in different scenes in which she can be seen clearly having a great time outside of her marriage. Good for you, girl!
