Life’s gotta be pretty tough on twins. Everyone thinks they’re some sort of novelty act or, come to think of it, a sex toy. Barbara Cecka felt the sting of double existence when she (along with her sister Karen, of course) was enlisted to play the role of Hotel Girl in the Anthony Michael Hall/Robert Downey Jr./Uma Thurman epic Johnny Be Good (1988). Barbara (along with her sister, of course) was only there to provide a brief respite of titillation in an otherwise atrocious movie, but the result of her performance was that of frustration and anger. As in “How the hell does Robert Downey Jr. get to cavort with topless twin hotties . . . while I have to be content to just watch the hotel-room titties?” Ah well. After the release of Johnny, Barbara (along with her sister, of course) promptly vanished from the world of skinema. Maybe she became one of those Doublemint Twins!
