A direct descendant of the great French scientist Louis Pasteur through her father, The Horror of Frankenstein star Ralph Bates, British racktress Daisy Bates began her career with a role as Freddy Boult on the TV series Forever Green. From 1995 to 1999 Daisy starred in the crime drama Kavanagh QC, and in 2002 she appeared as one of the enchanted portraits that line the walls of Hogwarts in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
