Do you like your girls hardcore? Then you’re going to love Gigi Vorgan. No, Gigi isn’t a porn star, she’s an actress who made her feature-film debut at the age of 13 in Johnny Got His Gun (1971). Not ready to head full-on into the entertainment industry, the Los Angeles native paused before she took up her next role, that of Brooke in Jaws 2 (1978). Where the hardcore comes in is her appearance as “Teenage Girl” in the movie Hardcore (1979), directed by Paul Schrader, who also helmed American Gigolo a year later. In the infamous movie about the sex trade, Gigi gets topless on a couch with Peter Boyle, who strips off her pants just as George C. Scott comes in on a high-moral horse looking for his teenage daughter—not Gigi. From there, the red-headed doll popped up in various TV shows, before landing the regular gig of Carol on the primetime hit Knots Landing from 1983-1987. She continued her silver-screen career with roles as Officer Audrey in Red Heat (1988) with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jim Belushi, and (surprise!) Peter Boyle; and as Nell in Vital Signs(1990) with Diane Lane and Laura San Giacomo. While we prefer to see her pretty self on screen, Gigi also became a voice actor, heard instead of seen in such films as Children of a Lesser God (1986) and Rain Man(1988). Gigi is also a writer, penned the TV movie Confessions of a Sorority Girl (1994), and has collaborated with her husband, Gary Small, a psychiatrist and neuroscientist. Together, the two have written multiple self-help books on health and lifestyle, including The Memory Bible, a New York Times bestseller.
