Goth rocker Gitane Demone founded the death rock trio Pompeii 99. In the 1980s Gitane became a member of the seminal goth band Christian Death until 1989, when she launched a solo career that included live performances featuring fetishism, rubber outfits, and sadomasochistic sex acts live on stage.
