Is it merely a coincidence that, just like in that notorious Seinfeld episode, Gladys’ last name rhymes with a special part of the female anatomy? Maybe not, since this 1920s actress is known for one thing and one thing only - nudity! Gladys is one of the stars of the 1927 exploitation film Forbidden Daughters, a one-reel short about a woman who travels to Africa looking for her long-lost husband. When the wife (played by Clarice Conwell) meets an East Indian trader who might be able to help, she’s introduced to the favorite of his entire harem - the beautiful Gladys, delivering fantastic full frontal as she lounges on a divan. Gladys’s gorgeous glands are just too hard to resist getting a handful of, which we totally understand. We only wish they had found there way back on screen in another film… or ten!
