Hal & Harper (2025)

A new streaming series on Mubi from Cha Cha Real Smooth’s Cooper Raiff, who also plays the titular Hal while Riverdale star Lili Reinhart is the Harper in this equation. They are siblings who’ve been each other’s rocks since their mom died and their Dad (Mark Ruffalo) retreated into a emotional cave, leaving them to deal with their grief alone. Now that Dad’s remarried to Kate (Betty Gilpin) and expecting a baby, it’s time to flash back and revisit all the moments that lead them to become who they are: a directionless college student and a woman cheating on her girlfriend (Alyah Chanelle Scott) with her colleague (series producer Addison Timlin). The latter love triangle means lots of lesbian liplocks but no nudity — yet. Here’s hoping the real duo at the center of this series isn’t Hal & Harper, but T & A!
