Julie Benz began as an ice skater, competing in the 1988 U.S. Championships. But when the teen ended her athletic career, she threw herself into acting—and landed a triple Lutz in the heat department! Her first speaking role came in the Dario Argento/George Romero horror flick Due Occhi Diabolici (1990). The blonde ingenue then turned to the boob-tube with titillating turns in Hi Honey, I’m Home (1991-1992) and Empire (1995). When she auditioned for the lead in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2000), Julie was cast as villainess Darla—a role she reprised in the spinoff series Angel (2000-2004).
