What’s the dealio with all the 90s nostalgia as of late? Amazon Prime just launched its new series based on the 1999 teen drama Cruel Intentions, and it’s actually not the first Sarah Michelle Gellar film from the decade to get turned into an Amazon series - 2021 saw the release of an I Know What You Did Last Summer series that had star Madison Iseman nude in a trio of scenes. But despite the Cruel Intentions creator talking up the show’s sex positivity, unlike I Know What You Did Last Summer, there wasn’t much skin to be seen.

Maybe the modern setting is the problem.
