R.I.P. Diane Keaton

Diane Keaton, actress, director, Oscar winner, and style icon, passed away this weekend at age seventy-nine. She had carved a unique career path for herself that all started on the stages of New York in the 1960s, where she was cast in the original production of the smash hippy musical, Hair. Though the show is known for its big group nude scene, Diane optioned to not participate in going bare back then.

Thankfully, she changed her mind about stripping down once she broke out into the film biz. After playing the role on Broadway, Diane starred the film version of Woody Allen’s Play It Again, Sam in 1972, the same year she’d appear as Kay Adams in The Godfather. Between Francis Ford Coppola’s award-winning mobster franchise and her many collaborations with Allen, Diane became a Hollywood A-lister, and by 1977 she not only won an Academy Award for her portrayal of the title character in Allen’s Annie Hall, but she also made her nude debut in the sexually adventurous drama Looking For Mr. Goodbar. If you’re looking for Diane Keaton nudity, you’ve found it because she exposes both her boobs and buns several times as a woman who teaches in the daytime and goes bar-hopping to get some strange by night.

Yep, before she became known for rom coms where she played first wives and mothers of the bride, Diane was doffing her duds again for real-life lover Warren Beatty in his 1981 film Reds.

Ever since famously bringing her own fashion sense to the character of Annie Hall, Diane was also celebrated for her exceptional sense of style, though we definitely preferred the offbeat beauty out of her baggy pants, ties, and wide brimmed hats. And just when we thought Diane had put nudity behind her, she came roaring back at age fifty-seven with some surprise full frontal in Nancy Meyer’s Something’s Gotta Give. One thing’s for sure, Diane gave us some great nudity to remember her by.
