What is a grindhouse film? Grindhouse and exploitation go a bit hand-in-hand as the term mainly applies to the kinds of low-budget films that hit movie theaters. These low-budget films are often filled with blood and exploitation and a lot of them became midnight movies at movie theaters. A "grindhouse movie theater" plays movies in succession, has low ticket rates, and shows films with low budgets and quality.
These films had a lot of violence and sex and several grindhouse films gained cult followings. One of the reasons for their fandom was, of course, the sex. Sex always sells! Here are our Staff Picks for films that rocked the Grindhouse movie circuit. These are sexy, iconic movies filled with skin!
Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!
Russ Meyer was the sexploitation king. The director brought the word so many sexy, filthy films filled with TA. Tura Satana and Lori Williams show the slightest bit of skin which did push boundaries in 1965. The film is an action-packed female-led film filled with fight scenes, violence, and cleavage.

Caged Heat
A true classic of the exploitation age, Caged Heat brings us our favorite things: babes, boobs, and action. Jonathan Demme directed this film (shocking I know) starring Italian horror maven Barbara Steele. The film takes place in a women's prison and the caged women unleash their bodies in a number of scenes. Babs keeps her clothes on, but the other women don't.

Cheryl Smith, Roberta Collins, Ella Reid, Erica Gavin, Juanita Brown and many more go nude in this exciting film. They may be behind bars, but they are no longer behind clothes!

Girl in Trouble
Unlike these other grindhouse films, Girl in Trouble doesn't rely on violence and fight scenes. Girl in Trouble relies on the tale of a young topless woman played by the innocent-seeming Tammy Clarke who wants to leave her tiny hometown and live it up in The Big Easy.
She wants to make her way to New Orleans where she can be her baddie self, but the big city is bigger than she ever anticipated. Before long, she's mixed up with the wrong crowd and in a heap of, well, trouble.

Black Shampoo
Blaxploitation films were huge in the grindhouse circuit. While so many of them feature hot naked women, Black Shampoo is one of the leading contenders for most nudity in a blaxploitation film. Jonathan Knight plays the ultimate ladies' man to several lovely ladies including the gorgeous and groovy Tanya Boyd whose bikini body is next level.

Planet Terror
Planet Terror was meant to be billed together in movie theaters with Tarantino's Death Proof in a traditional Grindhouse format. Both of them are sendups of grindhouse films in every single way. Death Proof did not have nudity in it, but Planet Terror did. Planet Terror features a striptease as well as Rose McGowan's rack.
