The New Caligula Nudity is Here!

After premiering at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023, a new cut of the skinfamous erotic historical drama Caligula (1979) was released in UK and North American theaters earlier this year, followed by a 4K Blu-ray release just last month. Once one of the most expensive independent films ever made, the new version of Caligula boasts previously missing scenes from writer Gore Vidal and director Tinto Brass, featuring never-before-seen nudity added to what was already one of the porn-iest movies to ever feature a bunch of highly-esteemed British thespians.

But don’t worry - if you don’t have three hours to spare to check out the new ultimate cut, Mr. Skin is ready to break down the film’s best new bits, starting with the introduction of the completely naked Loretta Young. A model from NYC back in the 70s, Ms. Young makes her screen and nude debut as a stripped-down slave serving Peter O’Toole’s decrepit Tiberius in a scene that also has a lot of nameless nudes decorating his palace by posing and writhing as “living statues.”

There’s also new nudity from stars Teresa Ann Savoy, Mirella D’Angelo, not to mention a young Dame Helen Mirren nude. We first meet the tasty trio when the titular Roman emperor (Malcolm McDowell) visits a bathhouse in search of wife material, and speaking of material, a lot of the ladies here are barely wearing any! The scene eventually turns into a sapphic spectacular, with lots of random butt rubbing and clam licking.

Helen is ultimately chosen for the job, and she and Teresa bookend Malcolm with their terrific T’n’A. Soon after, Mirella delivers all three Bs while her virginity is inspected by the evil emperor, and Helen does the same while she and Malcolm roll around in bed.
