For October, I want to highlight underrated horror movies with skintastic nudity. I am watching so many horror movies this month, so I am thrilled to share these skintastic gems with you. Today's underrated horror movie is a recent flick that is very unsettling, but features a very strong nude debut from its lead actress. Today's film is Saint Maud.
Rose Glass made her directorial debut with this British horror film that made big waves while doing the festival circuit in 2019. The film has amazing reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and has also been listened as one of the best horror films of the 21st century by several outlets, including The Hollywood Reporter. So why is it underrated?
Well, you might remember that right after 2019 was 2020. This film was supposed to be widely released in the spring of 2020, including a US release in April of that year. Covid derailed these plans until the film was eventually released on streaming. Had it been given a wider release, this would probably be considered a modern classic by a larger audience. However, that's not how it played out and we have to celebrate it as an underrated gem. Trust me, it IS a gem. The nudity is just a plus!
The plot follows a young woman name Maud (who has changed her name from her birth name, Kate). Morfydd Clark plays Maud, a young nurse who suffered a traumatic event earlier in her career in which she lost a patient in her care. She has reformed herself: converting religions and becoming a devout Catholic as well as changing her name to distance herself from her past.
She takes care of a dying woman who was a former dancer and choreographer. This woman is basically Norma Desmond from Sunset Boulevard, but chill. It's Maud who gives us the creeps! Maud does not approve of her patient's hedonistic ways and thinks that she has to save her. However, she goes too far and becomes convinced that there aredemons inside of her. The patient's patience is tested when Maud judges her for her female companion. Her patient calls her a homophobe and kicks Maud out.
This does not wake Maud up or make her slow her roll on saving people from demons. If anything, it makes Maud snap. She becomes more convinced of her "mission" and suffers from an increase in visions from the lord. Her psychosis makes her terrifying and it makes her do terrifying things.
Morfydd Clark made her nude debut in this movie. We saw her ass in two separate scenes which shows us how round her rump is. The lean young lady with long red hair has a pale peach that looks juicier than expected!
Watch Morfydd Clark take a shower, showing off her holy hiney in a scene that will make you want to get down on your knees and sing Morfydd's praises. That derriere deserves to be worshipped:
