Veera Degerholm was born in Finland as Veera Marjaana Degerholm. Maybe she changed her name to make it easier to remember. But really, all she has to do to keep her in the forefront of our memory is two things, and they’re both in her shirt. She started working on the boob tube in 1995 with an appearance on Metsolat. There were many other shows and miniseries that are equally unpronounceable, but none are as tongue-twisting and pants-pleasing as Kymmenen riininrautaa (2002).
