Egymásra nézve (1982)

The alternate title of the somber Hungarian drama Another Way (1982) is Egymásra nézve, but as it chronicles the romance between two sexy women, its universal appeal requires no interpretation. The movie's protagonist, Eva (Jadwiga Jankowska-Ciesla), is a radical young journalist who falls for older, more demure Livia (Grazyna Szapolowska) in a time and place where such love is forbidden. Fortunately we get full access to their (s)expressions of this taboo affection, enlivening a powerful story with erotic spice.
