When her husband dies, Susan Hanson (Lesley Ann Warren) finds herself desperately trying to financially support herself and her young pre-teen named Mark (K.C. Martel). They end up in California, where Susan uses her dance training to get a job doing burlesque at a nightclub, which then gets bought out by new owners and turned into a hardcore strip club. Not anting to lose her only source of income, Susan stays on and starts taking it all off for randy crowds, until one of those audience members turns out to be a photographer (Edward Hermann) hired by her father-in-law. Her father-in-law then tries to use the pictures as evidence to prove she’s an unfit mother so he can take away her custody of Mark. If you’ve ever lusted after Cinderella or wanted to see Miss Scarlet from Clue in the buff, this is film almost delivers. Leslie’s got the movies all right, but her goodies are never caught on camera. But you’ll still want to hang this Portrait of a Stripper on the wall of your spank bank!
