Spiel des Tages (1998)

Damir Lukacevic’s experimental drama Spiel des Tages (1998) begins as members from two rival villages gather for a seemingly ordinary game of football. What transpires, however, is shocking beyond belief--before the final whistle, both teams will have experienced suffering, death, and mourning. One subplot of Lukacevic’s unorthodox narrative involves an affair between star-crossed lovers. The ridiculously beautiful Marlene Marlow plays the better half of this doomed couple. She delights from the opening credits, where she appears lounging naked in bed.
