Strange Darling (2024)

An out-of-order story about a prolific American serial killer told in six chapters, centering on one particular late-night rendezvous between The Demon (Kyle Gallner) and The Lady (Willa Fitzgerald) in the room of a cheap motel. Featuring outstanding supporting performances by Barbara Hershey and Ed Begley Jr. as outsiders pulled into the duo’s battle for survival, the film is written and directed by JT Mollner, but the real MVP might be Giovanni Ribisi who steps behind the camera as the film’s cinematographer and artfully shoots the twisted one-night stand that goes awry in 35mm. And, of course, despite the dark subject matter, whether calling the shots or running for her life, Willa’s bra and undie-clad body is sure to give you a thrill-a!
