The Nice Guys (2016)

Shane Black’s third feature film as both writer and director is The Nice Guys (2016), and it’s a buddy cop crime romp set in the ’70s. In other words, it’s right in his sweet spot. Jack Healy (Russell Crowe) and Holland March (Ryan Gosling) are a pair of mismatched private investigators who team up when their cases cross paths over the murder of a pornstar named Misty Mountains (Murielle Telio). The plot thickens when a powerful blonde, Judith Kuttner (Kim Basinger), hires the two to find her brunette daughter Amelia (Margaret Qualley). Of course, Jack and Holland end up in way over their heads with a conspiracy involving drug dealers, the porn industry, and potentially corrupt government officials. Nevertheless, it’s a rip roaring good time — especially when the men attend a swinging party that’s filled with scantily-clad and naked babes. The latter is played by Jordan Hairston who works the room in her painted birthday suit! If that’s not arousing enough, a young porn queen (Yvonne Zima) dons a low-cut top that shows off her pokies and cleavage. The movie also includes Angourie Rice, Yaya DaCosta, and classic hits from Al Green, Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass, Kool & The Gang, and The Temptations. Breast of all is the arousing coverage of Ms. Telio. You’ll be jacked when you get to glance at Murielle’s massive mams — first in a centerfold and then in the flesh. Instead of The Nice Guys, this titillating pic should be called The Nice Girls!
