Three Below Zero (1998)

It's the hottest day of the summer, and three people are about to get trapped in the basement of a New York City apartment building in Three Below Zero (1998), writer-director Simon Aeby's feature debut. It's laundry time for the trio, made up of Kate Walsh, a young looker looking forward to flying out to San Fran to see her lover; Wes Bentley, a drummer who has a gig to get to; and Judith Roberts, an older sort who's got a romantic dinner planned for the evening. When the door to the laundry room shuts and leaves them stuck with one another, the three start gabbing in true indie fashion . . . and Kate and Wes decide to do the nasty right in front of the poor old lady. Arguments and revelations ensue (plus a great glimpse of Kate's hoo-hoos).
